Printer and network problems: how we diagnose them remotely
The order we work through connectivity and printing faults.
Start with the connection
We first confirm the computer has a stable internet and local network connection, since many printer problems are really network problems.
Then the printer itself
Next we check that the printer is reachable on the network, clear stuck print queues, and confirm the correct driver is installed for your operating system.
When hands-on work is needed
Some faults — a damaged cable, a failed router or a hardware fault in the printer — cannot be fixed remotely. In those cases we tell you what we found so you can arrange the right repair.
